The Singapore Grip was a six-part television drama set during the outbreak of World War II, focusing on the Japanese invasion of Singapore. One of the key scenes in Episode Five depicted several main characters escaping aboard the Felix Roussel. My primary responsibility on this project was to recreate the now-decommissioned ship and position it alongside the pier in preparation for its departure.

A crowd simulation was also required to populate the decks, featuring variations of men and women of different builds and attire. This was achieved using Softimage’s ICE. Additionally, I used Maya for the first time to create the water simulation and the wake generated by the Felix Roussel as it left the harbour.
